Pros: GTA take notice and for Grand Theft 4 please introduce a free aiming system like the one in Saints Row. This game is big and I’m not going to be able to get into every aspect, but nearly everything that worked in GTA is in this game and everything that didn’t has been fixed or dropped. Saints Row has better graphics, controls, about the same story, better lasting appeal and multiplayer modes, and only suffers from a much worse sound and radio selection.
If you are a diehard GTA fan…then you may find Saints Row’s copycatting too much to stomach. If you hated GTA’s controls and thought it was overrated (That’s me) then this game is fo r you. Anyway getting back to Saints Row…in many respects it is better than GTA and my brother and I constantly found ourselves saying, “Wow that’s way better than GTA…Sweet!” so if you like GTA this is for you.
Someone please copy this! As it is a must for nearly any FPS game. The Red Factions were both very good and introduced the ability to completely change the environment and blow holes in nearly anything. While originality points should be taken away from Volition (Red Faction 1+2, Descent Freespace), they have definitely proven themselves as superior developers. Saints Row is a shameless Grand Theft Auto clone…luckily it’s shamelessly good too. Saints Row is a Rip-off, but a damn good one I completely recommend buying at playing it through, and if you are like me, right after you beat it it will be listed for sale on eBay. I think that if you enjoyed GTA, then Saint's Row won't let you down, just don't expect complete differences. I bought it to see for myself how much different and alike it was from GTA. It's too easy - The game is rated as "medium" difficulty, but it is so forgiving by regenerating health, it really should be labeled "easy". Little changes here and there make Saint's Row just different enough from the GTA series that it is worth buying and playing. While "Urban Mayhem" genre games are fun, the all lack originality. Your Cell Phone - While its functional uses are limited to calling homies, cabs, EMTs, and entering cheat codes, it is funny and a unique ad dition to hear messages from calling numbers you see scrawled around Stilwater.
Total Roaming Freedom - From the beginning of the game you are free to roam he entire map. Granted, this way point system is flawed because it doesnt see shortcuts, and it only goes with the flow of traffic.
The Mapping System - Unlike GTA, SR gives you the ability to set way points so that you can easily find the way to our destination. Nevertheless, it is always fun to steal cars, rob stores, and start gang wars with absolutely no real world consequences. First off, I want to say that everyone who has played Grand Theft Auto, has to admit that Saint's Row is borderline plagiarism.
